JVR Jaguars Control both Lines of Scrimmage, Defeat the Norsemen 21-6.
As the JVR Jaguars headed to Story City to open up the action before the Varsity against the Norsemen of Roland-Story, the game plan for the Jaguars was very simple: Control the Line of Scrimmage. They did just that, receiving the opening kicking of the game and possessing the football for the entirety of the first quarter, finishing with a Declan McGuire touchdown run and Spencer Peterson point after touchdown kick attempt. The Norsemen would score one touchdown before halftime to tighten the game to 8-6 at halftime.
After halftime, the Jaguar defense, led by Linebackers Deegan Brandel, Evan Frana, Owen Pudenz and Caden Cramer clamped down on the Roland-Story offense not allowing any more points and very few first downs. Declan McGuire would continue to lead the Jaguar offense, executing Coach Aaron Swieter’s game plan masterfully, accounting for two more touchdowns on the ground to extend the final score to 21-6.
The JVR Jaguars now sit at 2-1 on the season.
