JVR Jaguars Fall to Des Moines Christian in Homecoming Curtain Raiser 33-8
As the JVR Jaguars looked to defend their home field against the Lions of Des Moines Christian prior to the Varsity kickoff on Friday night, the heat and the opponent proved to be a difficult match up for the underclassmen squad. Despite going up 8-6 early in the game after a beautiful play call from Coach Aaron Swieter led to the lone score, a pass connection from QB Dawson Tuel to WR Conner Rentz, the young squad struggled to find consistency as the game progressed.
The second half was a shut-out for both teams, neither offense able to find any footing, keeping the score deadlocked at 33-8 as the final buzzer sounded. Despite the final score, the Young Jaguar squad will look to improve on their fundamentals and continue to develop as they prepare for their curtain raiser this Friday night against the Norsemen of Roland-Story at 4:45.
