Jags lose 42-17
The Jaguar football team had another tough loss after another bad first quarter as the Jags found themselves down 21-0 in the first quarter for the second straight game. The boys have to be ready to play right away because we just can't overcome being down that much early in the games.
In the second quarter Cale Vansickle had a 52 yard run for the TD and Spencer Peterson made the extra point to make the score 21-7 but Roland Story scored 2 more times before half and made the score 35-7.
All we talked about at half was if they were going to give up or fight and for the second straight week the boys came out and fought and won the second half 10-7.
The second half was a much better half. Lenix Allbee tried kicking Thursday night and was good so we let him try a Field Goal from 33 yards out and he made it and set a new school record in doing so. Later in the game Lenix Allbee blocked a punt and scored a TD from it. Spencer Peterson made the extra point and the Jgas outscored Roland Story 10-7 in the second half and that made the Coaches happy that the boys kept fighting.
The Jags are dealing with numerous injuries and need to get healthy before next week.
The Jags will head to Saydel next week for Varsity only at 7:00. The JVR game has been cancelled
