Varsity Football Loses a Heartbreaker

The Jaguar football team lost a heartbreaker 7-10 to Greene County.

The Jaguar offense got down to the red zone a couple times the first half but could not get into the endzone.

Greene County was 1 play better than the Jags the first half with a 41 yard TD from their QB and Greene County led 7-0 at half.

The Jags defense got the ball back early in the 3rd quarter but the Jags threw an Interception.

Greene County took advantage of the turnover and took a 10-0 lead.

Finally in the 4th the Jags got the passing game going and Cale Vansickle hit Logan Jaeschke for an 8 yard TD. Spencer Peterson made the Extra point and the Jags were only down by 3.

Jags defense stuffed Greene County 3 more times and gave the balls back to the offense but the Jags either turned it over or had mistakes that prevented them from scoring and tying it up at the end of the game.

These two teams could play 10 times and the score would go back and forth as both teams were very equal.

This was a gut wrenching loss as this eliminated the Jags from making the playoffs.

The Jags will finish their season next week Home against Carroll Kuemper.
