Jaguars Defeat Cougars

Burnside- The 8th Grade Boys got a win in their final home game 47-18

over Manson Northwest Webster. It was a defensive battle from the

start with the Jags able to grab a 11-3 advantage after the first

quarter. The Jags were able to maintain their lead and went into

halftime up 19-8 over the Cougars. We wanted to value the basketball

more in the second half and convert on the offensive end. We wanted to

maintain our defensive pressure especially on their shooter and not

let their big guy get offensive rebounds. The Jags were able to do

that in the third quarter and had a 30-16 lead headed to the final

quarter. The Jags defensive pressure turned into offense and the Jags

opened the game up and came away with a 47-18 victory to wrap up their

home season. Scoring for the Jaguars include: Bennett Nolte (17),

Griffin Vote (2), Reece Carlson (2), Tristan Hanson (9), Wyatt Muench

(15), and Grant Ott (2). Also contributing for the Jaguars include:

Brock Peterson, Avery Waugh, Grant Peterson, Dallas Brandel, Nicholas

Vogel, Bryson Christian, Nolan Albright, Corbin Eslick, and Jax Hindt.

The Jaguars will be back in action on January 15th in Rockwell City

against South Central Calhoun.
