Southeast Valley 7th Grade Grinds Out Win Over Woodward-Granger, 40–31

The Southeast Valley 7th grade boys basketball team earned a hard-fought 40–31 victory over Woodward-Granger on Monday night, improving their record with a disciplined and patient performance.

Leading 21–19 at halftime, the Jaguars tightened up defensively in the second half - closing out on shooters, forcing turnovers, and limiting mistakes in rotations. Despite Woodward-Granger’s effort to slow the pace and contain transition opportunities, Southeast Valley responded with smart shot selection and strong ball control.

Nicco Jondle led all scorers with 20 points, including six three-pointers. Dawson Greene added 16, and Rocco Jondle chipped in 4. Others contributing to the win and defensive effort were Cam Johnson, Tripp Roper, Nikota Lyons, Trayson Guthsall, Roman Pace, Braxton Pierce, and Jaxson Halsrud.

Coach Steinhoff noted, “It was a different style of game than we’re used to, but our patience and defensive effort in the second half made the difference.”
