Southeast Valley 7th Grade Rolls Past Ogden, 52–26

The Southeast Valley 7th grade boys basketball team continued its strong play with a decisive 52–26 victory over Ogden on Tuesday night. The Jaguars set the tone early, racing out to a 20–2 lead after the first quarter and building a commanding 34–9 advantage by halftime. At the end of the third the score was 50-16. Behind sharp shooting from beyond the arc and relentless defensive pressure, Southeast Valley controlled the game from start to finish.

The Jaguars’ offense was sparked by hot shooting from Nicco Jondle, who knocked down his first three attempts from deep to ignite the early run. Cam Johnson joined the barrage with a three of his own in the opening quarter, helping Southeast Valley pile up eight total three‑pointers on the night. The balanced perimeter attack kept Ogden on its heels and opened up opportunities for inside scoring as well with Dawson Greene dominating the inside with 14 points. Also getting into the scorebook were Nicco Jondle leading the way with 17, Cam Johnson and Tripp Roper both with 6, Jaxson Halsrud with 7, and Rocco Jondle with 2 to round out the scoring efforts. Other contributors to the contest included Cooper Lane, VinJuan Atcitty, Gabe Steck, Jaxyn Milham, Cam Nelson, Eli Bird, and Braxton Pierce.

Defensively, the Jaguars delivered their best effort of the season in the first half. The team’s emphasis on starting fast and setting the tone early was evident, as they smothered Ogden’s offense, forced turnovers, and limited second‑chance opportunities. The defensive intensity created transition chances that the Jaguars converted into easy baskets, further widening the gap.

Coach Steinhoff praised the team’s execution, noting, “We’ve been emphasizing the importance of starting strong, and tonight the boys really showed what that looks like. Our defensive energy in the first quarter and half was outstanding, and it gave us the momentum we needed to control the game.”

The Jaguars will look to carry their sharp shooting and defensive focus into their upcoming contests as they travel to Manson Northwest Webster on Monday, December 8th and host Eagle Grove December 9th.
