Barnum- The 8th Grade Boys took the short bus ride north this time and picked up a 47-20 victory of Manson Northwest Webster. The Jags took an early lead of 11-7 at the end of the first quarter of action. Going into the halftime break the Jags maintained their advantage at 19-12 and knew it was going to be a four quarter battle. Halftime we talked about keeping a high hand up on their shooters and not allowing their big guys to get offensive rebounds for second chance opportunities. Offensively we wanted to work inside out by taking advantage of our big inside and their passing ability to find the open shooters. The Jags came out of the halftime break firing on all cylinders and held the Cougars scoreless and took control and led 34-12 at the end of the third quarter. In the final quarter the Jaguars maintained their intensity and came away with a 47-20 road victory. The Jaguars will be back in action on December 9th in Burnside against Eagle Grove.
