Southeast Valley Completes Perfect Season With 57–26 Win Over South Central Calhoun
The Southeast Valley 7th grade boys basketball team closed out its season in dominant fashion on Thursday night, rolling to a 57–26 victory over South Central Calhoun and securing an undefeated record. The Jaguars set the tone early, jumping out to a double‑digit lead in the first quarter and continuing to build separation with disciplined defense and unselfish offense.
“Our guys have really matured over the course of the season,” Coach Steinhoff said. “They’ve learned how to value possessions, make the extra pass, and trust each other. When we play with that kind of purpose, we’re tough to guard. Defensively, when we worked in some of our zone, our rotations were much better and our effort boxing out was improved which can be the downside of running a zone if you are not disciplined.”
Nicco Jondle led the way with 15 points, followed closely by Tripp Roper with 14, Dawson Greene with 11, and Rocco Jondle with 10. Their balanced scoring and willingness to move the ball helped the Jaguars maintain control from start to finish. VinJuan Atcitty (2), Hudson Uicki (2), and Jaxson Halsrud (2) also got into the scoring column; Cooper Lane, Nikota Lyons, Gabe Steck, Jaxyn Milham, Cam Nelson, Trayson Guthsall, Eli Bird, Roman Pace, and Braxtin Pierce all helped provide defensive pressure, rebounding, and energy that defined the team’s ID all season.
With the 57–26 win, Southeast Valley caps off a remarkable year; undefeated and playing its best basketball at the end of the season.
